A complete list of all the accessories you need for your NexStar 8SE and 6SE

So you bought the Celestron NexStar 8SE and want to get the most out of it. You need to buy some accessories to get the most out of your Celestron 8SE and 6SE.

Accessories for Celestron NexStar 8SE/6SE

Battery Pack:-

This is one of the most important accessories you will buy for the Celestron Nexstar 8SE and 6SE. If you plan to take your telescope to remote locations, then powering your telescope with a direct supply will not always be an option. You can use NexStar 8SE with 8 AA batteries, but they will not last long, and it will get very expensive to use AA batteries again and again.

So the Celestron battery pack is a must-have for you if you have bought this telescope. There are two types of battery packs. A smaller one provides 8 hours of power supply to your telescope, and a bigger one provides 12 hours of power supply. So if you are doing astrophotography, then getting a 12-hour battery supply makes sense, as you can also use other equipment with this battery.

Barlow Lens

A good Barlow lens is a must for this telescope. If you look at Saturn with just an eyepiece, it will look small. If you want to get a closer look at the planets and objects, you need a Barlow lens to zoom in on the objects. You should have a good-quality 2X or 3X Barlow lens if you have this telescope.

Eyepieces

The Celestron NexStar 8SE and 6 SE both come with one single 25mm eyepiece.
Which is good for looking at the objects. But to get the most out of it, you will need various eyepieces, and a 10mm eyepiece is a must if you want to look at the planets very closely.
If you want a wide-angle view, then a 32- or 40-mm eyepiece is also what you need. Instead of buying these eyepieces separately, you should buy a set of these eyepieces. This way, it is much more cost-effective than buying each eyepiece separately.

Dewshield

A dew shield is an essential accessory that protects your optical tube in the field. It prevents excess moisture in the air from forming condensation on the corrector lens. A dew shield also helps block stray light from entering the telescope for better viewing and Astro-imaging. These dew shields are made of PE plastic, and they are durable and strong. These dew shields are ideal for 6” and 8” telescopes.

Car Battery Adapter

If you think the battery pack is expensive, you can also buy a car battery adapter and power this telescope with your car battery when you are in a remote location.

Solar Filter

Someday you will want to capture the amazingness of our sun. Then you will need the solar filter made by Celestron. These solar filters are the ultimate protection from harmful solar radiation, including IR and UV light, plus 99.999% of visible light. They all come in different sizes. So make sure that you are buying the right one according to the aperture of your telescope.

Telescope Case

If you often travel to different locations, Then, to keep your telescope safe, you will need to buy these cases to make it easy to carry around and to protect it from damage as well.

Wedge

If you are planning to use your telescope for long-exposure astrophotography, then you need to convert the AZ mount to an EQ mount. For that, you will need a wedge. This wedge will help you to polar align your telescope, and then you can do long-exposure astrophotography.

Phone adapter

When you are observing, sometimes you just want to click a quick photo with your phone. For this, you need to buy a good phone adapter. A Celestron YZ phone adapter is really good. It offers Y and Z direction movement with not much hassle. You can quickly clamp it on the eyepiece and take photos. It is much better than other phone adapters, which are much more difficult to use.

Dielectric Star diagonal

You get a star diagonal with your NexStar 8SE and 6SE. The one you get with your telescope is a simple one. If you want a shaper and more clear images, then you need to buy this dielectric Star diagonal.

Anti-vibration pads

The telescope vibrates while slewing. To minimize the vibrations, you will need an anti-vibration pad. This will stabilize the view from your telescope, and it will be much easier to take clear photos.

Equatorial Mount

If you are really serious about astrophotography, then you should buy a good equatorial mount that can track the objects for longer durations. The EQ mount should be able to handle the weight of the optical tube assembly. Here are some of the EQ mounts you should be considering buying.
